‘Badge’ normally refers to magnetic swipe cards, which works like a credit card
with a magnetic stripe on one side that employees slide through the time clock.
The NT5000II terminal is a PC based magnetic reader specially designed for time
management and job tracking data collection. Besides clocking In and Out, it is
used for job entry and other input functions. Supervisors can send general greetings
and specific messages for individual employees. The internal bar code decoder allows
for easy connection of bar code readers such as Pen, CCD, Laser, and Omni-Directional
scanners. For more details, see the brochure for NT5000II.

Using hand geometry technology, a hand punch reader brings accuracy and security
integration to NOVAtime’s solutions. It eliminates "buddy punching", which is an
age old problem of employees clocking each other in. With hand readers implemented
within a company, each employee’s hand is their badge! It also eliminates issues
with lost badges. NOVAtime partners with RSI/Schlage and offers the following hand
punch readers:
Hand
Punch 1000E

Punch 1000

(off-site employees). See the NOVAtime Phone-In System brochure for more information.

employees slide the card through the time clock. It's usually used for job tracking.

Proximity time clocks do not require employees to slide their badges through the
reader. Your employees simply present their proximity badge in front of the time
clock for quick and efficient access. Many companies already use proximity cards
(HID, RFID, etc.) within their environment for access control and NOVAtime will
support most of these technologies to mitigate costs and deployment of new badges.

Using your existing investment in Palm or Windows-based PDAs to run NOVAtime’s workforce
management software puts the power of these solutions into your employees’ and supervisors’
hands Because PDA handheld devices are small and portable, this module is great
for mobile users who need to track their time in the field. Supervisors may also
punch in a group of employees with one entry! The time punches from your handheld
devices are collected the same way as the other data collection device! Uploads
and downloads are supported through desktop synchronization software as well as
real-time WiFi and GPRS access.

Capturing your employees time punches anytime, anywhere using a browser based time
clock that runs on LAN, WAN, and Internet. NOVAtime also offers Offline Modules
that allow employees to punch when there is no network connectivity. Punches will
be stored on the local workstation until connectivity is restored, at which point
the data will be transmitted to the application.
